If you recently found out you are expecting a child and would like to have your baby Baptized, please contact Fr. Lawrence at 516-568-1027 for more information. While it is not a very cumbersome or time consuming process, there are several things that need to be accomplished before a Baptism date can be set. Ideally, it is best if you call before your child is born.

As we read in the Catechism of the Catholic Church (p. 1231):

Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit, and the door which gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word."

Baptism is truly a special Sacrament and should not be delayed. However, there are occasionally circumstances in which a child, or even an adult, has not received the Sacrament. If you are an unbaptized adult and would like to receive the Sacrament, please see our Adult Initiation page. Unbaptized children and teenagers should contact our Religious Education office for more details on the process for those over the age of 7.
